Cut Copy - In Ghost Colours

Cut Copy son australianos, pero por su música podrían perfectamente ser británicos, alemanes, franceses o suecos. Las canciones de su segundo disco ‘In Ghost Colours’ podrían definirse como discopop, pero con un lado sombrío. Digamos que es música de discoteca, pero que evoca simultáneamente las luces de colores sobre la bola de espejo y los rincones más oscuros y sórdidos. La referencia más clara de su música son los New Order de los últimos ochenta, los del gran ‘Technique’, incluidos esos aires acid y balearic tan de moda entonces, y lo muestran sin reparo alguno (con orgullo, casi diría yo) en los singles ‘Hearts On Fire’ y ‘Lights And Music’, o en la genial ‘Out There On The Ice’. Pero a menudo afloran también unas guitarras y melodías que los emparentan con la psicodelia de Of Montreal, y que se hacen más patentes en los números más rock, como en ‘Unforgettable Season’ o ‘So Haunted’.
